Jay DeMerit

Tell me about your chances of promotion with Watford. It’s a pretty interesting times over here. Like you said we got five games left and I think we have a pretty good run in as far as our last five games go. We still have West Brom to play and Crystal Palace but the other three games are very winnable games so if we can take points from the two hard games then we’ll definitely have ourselves in a good situation come the end of the season.

Tell me about the upcoming schedule. Sometimes you don’t want to play the teams around you because if they can drop points by playing somebody else then you’re in the better.

Although they are going to be some of the hardest games we’ve played this season like you said if we can take three points from these games then that’s three points they lose out on as well. So that’s a big jump the table for us and we’ll definitely look to do that.

Watford has a better record away from home, why? I think it comes from a couple of different factors. I think when you’re away from home you don’t have the pressure of the home fans. I think there were times when we hit a little bit of a dip of the form earlier in the season when little things would go wrong at the beginning of games and fans would start to get on our backs and I think we just started to play a little nervous at home and when we would go away from home there would be a little less pressure and it would be more of a team atmosphere."
